Easter box display!

Hi it’s Hybrid Chick Vicki again and I am here to show you a quick and easy last minute Easter/Spring display.

My sketch is not very tidy but for some projects I like to scribble something down to get a better idea visually. Here’s my first thought when starting this project.

I sometimes like to create my own cutting files and I thought this would be a neat time to do so … however time just got away with me so I had to find a quicker way and found a perfect file for what I had in mind in the Silhouette store.

Digichick Products: ‘Planting Time’ by ramona designs and ‘Cutting file tiny flowers 2’ by Valentina Pellitteri

Other Products and Supplies:
Silhouette Store design #75915; Silhouette Cameo cutting machine; White cardstock for ‘print and cut’ items; ‘crushed curry’ Stampin Up 80lb cardstock; Zig 2 way glue; Recollections foam adhesive squares and my handy phone for photos and video.

Before I start … I LOVE showing a teaser – there is so much prettiness to come!

So I started with cutting out my main box pieces using the Stampin Up cardstock and glued the base of the boxes first:

I then chose my patterns from Ramona’s digital papers and arranged the pieces on my screen then sent to print and cut:
Here’s a very short clip of my machine during the print and cut: (I had to add music as my Silhouette sounds like it is in huge pain!)
I love how my Silhouette cuts … I’ve been very lucky with this current blade … no ripping of my cardstock yet!

After cutting all the patterned pieces for the box lids I used my Zig 2 way glue to adhere them – I had to be quick because this glue dries quickly.
For some reason this particular cardstock does not like my ol’ faithful Scotch adhesive, maybe I used too much but it warped this cardstock when I used it before!
I decided to raise the letters so I used my Recollections foam adhesive squares to attach them to the box lids.

I printed and cut my flowers from Valentina’s file and attached them to the box lids with the foam adhesive squares. So many pretty shapes and colours from these Digichick designers!
(I had a great video showing the machine reading the registration marks, but iMovie is not my friend at the moment!!)

Here is my final box display – a little different from my sketch but I’m happy with how well it turned out. I hope you like it too! :-)

Thank you for joining me today!
Wishing you a warm and Happy Easter!

And … some extras … more layout examples of the boxes … you can go crazy, add chocolate, decorate around a cake display, include a fluffy bunny, add more flowers, etc.!!
